The final building permit for FS3 was issued today. The building skeleton should be up by the end of the month according to the latest county update. I haven’t had time to take pictures for a few weeks but will soon…ish.

Missed a week. Blame it on the Nats. Blame it on the iPhone 4. If you have driven by the site you’ll notice the back retaining wall has been completed. According to the June 16 county update, W-T is waiting for a wall check survey. Once completed and accepted by the county a final building permit will be issued as well as a plumbing permit. There is also an “alignment issue” between the Koons Garage and FS3 site where the “openings on the parking garage were not coordinated with the planned slope of the fire station grade.”  Architects for both projects are working on a fix.

But fear not — like Pinocchio & Geppetto, escape is certain, though hopefully it doesn’t involve tickling marine life or my nose growing.

If you don’t subscribe to the County’s Official FS3 Construction Update Listserve everything is on schedule. Excavation, sheeting and shoring is near completion and work on the Koons garage foundation and footings will start soon. The County expects to receive a building permit for the fire station in August, with actual construction starting in late Fall. More in a few weeks.
